RESTAURANT MAKEOVER, THE EMPRESS

ABOUT

Welcome! My name is Lisa North. I started BluMorpha after over a decade of interior design in the commercial and residential sectors. After spending many years in a fairly materialistic (and often wasteful) industry, I began to feel a lack of meaning. One thing I enjoyed greatly was hearing compliments from visitors about my own decor. Much of my home contains items I have made, redesigned or found items that I have given a facelift. Turning old pieces into new and stylish decor items has been a passion since I was a teenager. I began redoing pieces for clients, and started creating custom pieces from salvaged materials. What began as a hobby became an integral part of my business.

Today I specialize in the transformation of spaces by integrating the old and the new. A client's favorite piece given a modern twist is often the inspiration catalyst for their new look! Let’s face it, they just don’t make it like they used toAs they say, "one wo(man)'s trash is another's treasure".

My mother and grandmother were incredibly resourceful women. Both lived through The Great Depression; for them, re-purposing was intuitive. As we find ourselves faced with a recession and new economy, the need for reducing our carbon footprint and economizing has had an impact on Interior Design. With gratitude, my business is an homage to the women who raised me.

After personally managing two family estates, I discovered another passion that I integrated into my work: Estate and Content Sale Management is an additional service I offer.

I also love to share my knowledge with the community, and teach DIY Home Decor workshops which gives participants the space, skills, and tools to breathe new life into loved but tired furniture; and to make affordable, stylish and unique artwork for their homes.

My priority is to do my part in helping reduce waste, impart a client's personality and history, to create beautiful and comfortable spaces tailored to the individual personality of my wonderful clients!
